Telegram Premium is a gift that people use every single day. You can send it in two ways — and for neither of them do you need your friend’s phone or password, only their @username.

## Why Premium is a great gift

- It’s useful every day: bigger uploads, faster downloads, voice-to-text, no ads.
- It arrives instantly in Telegram — perfect for a last-minute birthday gift.
- It doesn’t renew: your friend never gets charged after the gift period ends.

## Way 1: gift Premium in the Telegram app

1. **Open your friend’s profile** — Tap their name at the top of the chat.
2. **Tap “Send a gift”** — Or open the ⋯ menu and choose the gift option.
3. **Choose Telegram Premium** — Pick 3, 6 or 12 months and pay through the app.

This works if your card is accepted by the App Store, Google Play or Telegram’s payment provider in your country.

## Way 2: gift Premium through our bot

Choose the period, switch to “As a gift” and enter the friend’s @username. The bot opens with the order prefilled, shows the price and the payment methods — and delivers Premium as a gift right after payment.

## What your friend will see

The recipient gets a service message about the Telegram Premium gift and Premium switches on in their account. No action is required — no codes to enter, no links to open.

> **Find the right @username** Open the friend’s profile and look at “Username”. If they don’t have one, ask them to create it in Settings — a gift can’t be delivered without it.

## Which period to gift: 3, 6 or 12 months?

| Period | Best for |
|---|---|
| 3 months | A first taste of Premium, a thank-you, a small birthday surprise |
| 6 months | Friends and colleagues who use Telegram every day |
| 12 months | A big gift for a partner, family member or teammate — the best value per month |

Not sure what your friend needs? Premium is the universal choice. If they love gifts, paid content or mini apps, [Telegram Stars](https://premium-and-stars.com/buy-telegram-stars/) can be an even better surprise — they can spend them on whatever they like.

## Common mistakes when gifting Premium

- **Wrong @username.** Copy it from the friend’s profile instead of typing it from memory — a delivered gift can’t be moved to another account.
- **Display name instead of username.** “Anna 🌸” is a name; the username starts with “@” and contains only Latin letters, digits and underscores.
- **Sharing codes.** Never ask your friend for a login code “to activate the gift” — gifts activate automatically.

## For channel owners: Premium giveaways

If you run a channel, Telegram lets you launch a Premium giveaway for subscribers — it’s a popular way to grow an audience. Prefer a simpler route for a few winners? Order Premium for each winner’s @username in the bot.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I gift Telegram Premium without knowing the phone number?

Yes. Only the @username is needed — no phone number, no password, no codes.

### Can I gift Premium to someone who already has it?

Yes. Before payment the bot explains how the gifted period will be applied to their active Premium.

### Will my friend be charged after the gift ends?

No. A gift is a fixed period without auto-renewal. When it ends, Premium simply switches off.

### Can I schedule the gift for a specific date?

Place the order on the day you want the gift to arrive — delivery usually takes minutes.

### Will my friend know the gift is from me?

When you gift Premium in the app, your friend sees your name. When you order in our bot, tell your friend about the surprise yourself — for example, with a message right after delivery.
