What is Telegram Premium?
Telegram Premium launched in June 2022 as a paid add-on to the free messenger. Everything that was free stays free; Premium adds bigger limits, faster downloads, extra customization and tools for power users. Subscribers get a star badge next to their name.
Premium belongs to your account, not to a device: once activated, it works on your phone, tablet, desktop and Telegram Web at the same time.
Bigger files and faster downloads
4 GB per file
Upload documents, videos and archives up to 4 GB each. Free accounts are limited to 2 GB.
Maximum download speed
Premium removes the download speed cap, which matters most for large videos and files.
Voice-to-text and real-time translation
Voice-to-text turns voice and video messages into text with one tap — handy in meetings, on public transport or when a friend sends a five-minute voice note. Translation lets you translate entire chats, groups and channels as you scroll, not just single messages.
No ads in public channels
Large public channels can show sponsored messages. With Premium these ads are hidden, so your feed contains only the posts you subscribed for.

Chat management and privacy
- Archive and mute new chats from people who aren’t in your contacts — automatically.

Telegram Business tools are included
Premium also unlocks Telegram Business: opening hours and location in your profile, greeting and away messages, quick replies, chat links with pre-filled text and the ability to connect a chatbot that answers clients for you. For freelancers and small shops this alone can justify the subscription.

Is Telegram Premium free?
No, Premium is a paid subscription. The only ways to get it without paying yourself are a gift from someone else or winning a channel giveaway.
Can other people see that I have Premium?
Yes, a star badge (or your emoji status) appears next to your name, and others can see your Premium stickers and emoji.
What happens when Premium ends?
Your chats, files and contacts stay. Premium-only features switch off and the free limits apply again — for example, you can’t add new folders beyond the free limit.
Is Telegram Premium sold monthly?
In the app — yes, as a monthly or yearly subscription. As a gift (which is how our bot delivers it) Premium comes in fixed periods of 3, 6 or 12 months.
Does Premium work on desktop and web?
Yes. It is linked to your account and works in every official Telegram app where you are logged in.
