Telegram Stars in simple words
Telegram introduced Stars in June 2024 so that people can pay for digital goods and services inside the messenger — in bots, mini apps and channels — in a way that complies with App Store and Google Play rules. You buy Stars once and then spend them in a tap anywhere in Telegram.
Stars live on your account balance. Creators, channel owners and developers receive Stars from users and can later withdraw them or spend them on ads.

How to get Telegram Stars
- Buy in the Telegram app — Settings → My Stars → buy more. Payment goes through the App Store or Google Play, which add their fee.
- Buy in a bot like @PremiumAndStarsMarketBot — no app store and no wallet; the price is shown before payment.
- Receive as a gift from a friend or win them in a channel giveaway.
- Earn as a creator — through paid posts, star reactions, subscriptions or a bot that sells digital goods.
Any site or bot that “generates” free Stars or asks for your login code is a scam aimed at stealing your account. The only free ways are gifts, giveaways and earning.
How much is one Star? Stars to USD explained
There are two different numbers people call the “Stars rate”:
- Purchase price — what you pay to get Stars. It depends on the store, the amount and app store fees.
- Withdrawal rate — what creators receive when they withdraw earned Stars. It is lower than the purchase price.
So a “1 Star = X USD” converter tells you what creators earn, not what you’ll pay. To see the real price for your amount, open the bot — it shows the price before payment.

How to avoid Stars scams
- Never share your Telegram login code or 2FA password — no seller needs it.
- Check the @username before paying: Stars can’t be pulled back after delivery.
- Buy where the price is shown before payment and support is reachable.
- Ignore “Stars hacks”, “mod APKs” and “bypass” tools — they don’t work and often contain malware.

Frequently asked questions
Can I withdraw Telegram Stars?
Only Stars earned as a creator (from paid posts, reactions, subscriptions or a bot) can be withdrawn. Stars you bought for yourself are meant to be spent inside Telegram.
Can I transfer Stars to another user?
You can send gifts and star reactions, and you can buy Stars directly for someone else’s @username in our bot — they’ll arrive on that person’s balance.
Are Telegram Stars the same as TON?
No. Stars are an in-app currency for digital goods in Telegram. TON is a cryptocurrency.
What is the minimum number of Stars I can buy?
In our bot — from 50 Stars. Inside the app Stars are sold in fixed packs.
Can I get a refund for Stars?
App store purchases follow Apple’s or Google’s refund rules. For orders in our bot, contact support before delivery; once Stars are credited, Telegram doesn’t allow reversing them.
